CROW RIVER YOUTH BAND
An advanced opportunity for band students in the Northwest Twin Cities Metro
Is your child ready for a challenge musically? Are they ready to explore more difficult music with other likeminded students?
Whether your child attends public school, private school, or is homeschooled, there is a place for them in the Crow River Youth Band!
The purpose of this youth band is to bring together students who have had at least two years of experience or more in their band programs and are searching for an opportunity to play higher level music. The music is geared towards older middle school and high school students.
This community ensemble is designed with intermediate and advanced students in mind. Acceptance is based on band director recommendation—-no formal audition is required for the upcoming season.
Location: Rehearsals and concerts take place at St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West on Monday evenings from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. Our season will start in October 2026 and conclude in April 2027.
Performances: The Crow River Youth Band will perform two concerts each school year.
Cost: The tuition for the season is $336. Payment plans are available.

What age does my student have to be to participate in the Crow River Youth Band?
No matter their age, as long as your child has had at least two years of experience in their own band program, they are eligible for CRYB.
Why do I need director recommendation?
Due to the nature of this ensemble, we want to make sure students who participate in the Crow River Youth Band are ready for advanced music. A director recommendation allows us to have someone that knows the student’s abilities help determine if they are ready for the ensemble.
What is the cost to participate?
$336 for the year. This includes a Crow River Youth Band shirt for students. Cost can be paid in 1 installment, 2 installments, or 4 installments.
When are the performances?
Concerts will take place in February and April.

What time do rehearsals take place?
Mondays, starting in October from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm.
Is there a way to try out the band before committing?
